THE PROJECT
The Arthur Crames Academic Wing of the Saratoga Independent School in Saratoga Springs, NY.
I am reaching out to ask for your support with a special memorial project I am working on for my dad, Arthur Crames. It’s hard to believe that it is approaching two years since his passing. He certainly was a lucky man … blessed with family, friends, a job he loved, a generous spirit, quick wit and experiences for the ages.
Over the past months, I (and a small committee of friends: George Martin, Harry Carson, Ray Colotti, Joe Cary, Tom Mungeers and Laura Schreiner), have been writing letters and making plans to raise money for something significant in his honor, and in his name.
The school, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, completed the newest wing of classrooms last Spring. Raising $250,000 would enable completion of the first floor and would be TRANSFORMATIVE for the school, delivering the type of impact that characterized Dad’s giving throughout his life. It would allow the school to offer its coveted brand of hands-on, authentic learning experiences to more children AND to the larger community as well with special activities and camp programs.
Given Dad’s penchant for quiet generosity, his scholarship programs and his desire to create opportunities for kids, this project is a natural fit. Were he here, I know he would have loved the opportunity to have such a significant impact on the growth and success of this school.
To date, we have raised $51,575 towards this goal. With your participation, I know we can make this project a reality.
Thank you for any support you can offer. And, if you would like to share any thoughts, memories or photos of Dad, we would love it. Just forward to arthurcrames@gmail.com and we will include on the site!
Warmly,
Amanda Crames
